Alone on stage, a woman confesses a fear that troubles her: the thought of giving birth to a daughter. To understand where this anxiety comes from, she traces it back through her childhood and adolescence, to a time when becoming a woman seemed to hinge on one very specific expectation: developing breasts.
With humour and candour, Caroline Raynaud explores this obsession and the ideals of femininity that shaped it. Blending stand-up and theatre with video, movement and dance, Le Téton Tardif delves into our collective cultural imagination to question our relationship with our bodies, beauty, sexuality and self-esteem in a society shaped by media and popular culture.

Caroline Raynaud
Caroline Raynaud is a French-born actor, playwright and creator based in Canada. After beginning her career in France, including film appearances in La Vie en rose and La Rafle, she continued her artistic career in Canada, working in both theatre and film. Her stage credits include the cross-Canada tour of Mani Soleymanlou’s 1.2.3. and Les Filles du Roi at Théâtre français de Toronto. In 2023, she received the Thomas Blais Award from the Fondation pour l’avancement du théâtre francophone au Canada to support the development of Le Téton tardif, her first solo show, which she writes, produces and performs.
