Le Téton Tardif

Written and produced by Caroline Raynaud

January 22 to 24, 2027 Studio Ian C. Nelson • 914, 20th Street West, Saskatoon

Solo show in French, with English surtitles

Multidisciplinary – Touring (Ontario)

Recommended for ages 14 and up

Alone on stage, a woman confesses a fear that troubles her: the thought of giving birth to a daughter. To understand where this anxiety comes from, she traces it back through her childhood and adolescence, to a time when becoming a woman seemed to hinge on one very specific expectation: developing breasts.

With humour and candour, Caroline Raynaud explores this obsession and the ideals of femininity that shaped it. Blending stand-up and theatre with video, movement and dance, Le Téton Tardif delves into our collective cultural imagination to question our relationship with our bodies, beauty, sexuality and self-esteem in a society shaped by media and popular culture.

The January 23 performance will be followed by a conversation with the artists.

Byrun Boutin-Maloney 2026-2027 Season Artist

This season, each show has its own visual world. La Troupe du Jour invited Fransaskois artist Byrun Boutin-Maloney, based in Estevan, to create an original linocut illustration for each of the five productions in Growing Together.

A multidisciplinary artist, musician and writer, Byrun is known for his distinctive visual style, featuring bold colours, surreal compositions and imagery rich in symbolism and storytelling. He discovered linocut printmaking in 2026 during the Francophone artistic residency Confluence at PAVED Arts Studio in Saskatoon.

Created especially for La Troupe du Jour, his five illustrations draw inspiration from each work in the season while coming together as a collection that gives our 41st season an artistic identity all its own.
